Sacred Guidance

Asthi Visarjan (Ashes Immersion) in Gaya

Immersing the ashes of deceased loved ones in the holy waters of the **Falgu River** is a vital Vedic step before performing Pind Daan. The scriptures state that as long as the bones of a person remain in the holy river waters, their soul resides happily in heaven.

Standard Guidelines

If you are bringing the ashes (Asthi Kalash) of your ancestor to Gaya, kindly review the following guidelines:

  • **Safe Packing:** Carry the ashes in a clean, red-clothed clay urn or copper kalash, ensuring it is kept secure during travel.
  • **Muhurat timings:** Visarjan must be completed in morning hours (between sunrise and noon) under Pujari guidance at designated Devghats.
  • **Tarpan link:** It is highly recommended to perform a specialized Asthi Tarpan immediately after immersion.
  • **Cleanliness:** Ensure no plastic containers or synthetic clothing are immersed into the river bed, maintaining ecological sanctity.
